Vietnamese New Year

The New Year thing was so great. V and I got lots of swag. This is what I got:
a piggy bank (it's the year of the pig)
2 water bottles
lucky money envelopes
3 calenders
2 bouncy balls
a plastic snake
a fan
a deck of old maid cards
soap
a first aid kit
a key chain/bottle opener
2 chap sticks
2 balloons
a balloon hat :)
a light up ball
a bracelet
note cards
notepads
post-its
sunglasses
and 12 umbrellas
Plus lots of chocolate! ^^
My mom came home today, too. She's been in Minnesota because my grandma died (cancer). I was sad, but I had only meet her a few times because she and the rest of my mom's family live out in Minnesota/Wisconsin. She's actually my stepgrandma, but my mom's mom died when my mom was 19 (also cancer), so I never knew her. Anyway, Mom got almost all of the family photos, which I'm completely psyched about, plus a copy of their genealogy book. And while my dad was cleaning he found a picture of my great-great granddad, plus his old passports. In one of them he almost looks like Heath Ledger in A Knight's Tale. It's kind of weird, think my dad was once kind of good looking. :\

Yada yada yada

Yesterday:
My CM class was totally frustrating yesterday. (A CM is kind of like a student teacher, a senior assigned to a freshmen class to help them.) R, who has ADHD big time, but had major side effects to medication, was worse then usual. I had to spend almost the whole period helping him with two worksheets. But a good part was B told me about straight knifty knitters, which I'm definitely going to buy right away, and about how you can make a tighter knit by using two strands.
Physics was good though. My friend K had a hot friend visiting. :) He's from Japan and is going to a private school here, so he came to our school for a day to experience public school.
For lunch I had a Vietnamese lesson with V and we made flash cards. Now I can say hello/goodbye (chào), how are you (khoe khong), and kitten (méo con) straight from memory.
Also I tried a new dose of my ADD medication (I went back on medication recently after having been off it since middle school), 9 more mg, but I didn't feel any different, except I was really tired all day. But that could be coincidental.

Today:
I was tired again after taking my meds, so I'm seriously wondering if that's what's causing it. I'm going to try my old dose tomorrow and see what happens.
My friend S called and wanted me to call her back on her cell. She thought I had her number but I didn't since my cell got stolen. Later V called and invited me to a new years celebration thing at the convention center. It sounds like a lot of fun. She said they were giving out giant umbrellas, and lots of chocolate. Yum!
My family and I went out dinner to celebrate my getting into Northridge. We went to this new barbecue place on Prescott, then had dessert at Pix Patisserie.

OMGx100

I got accepted into CalState Northridge!!!! I don't have to go to North Dakota for college, hooray! This is amazing as I'm out-of-state, have a weak GPA, and a so-so SAT score (great ACT though). Sun, heat and beach, here I come!

Anyway, I'm watching the lastest Colbert Report right now. I love this show. "It's called a Whammy Bar. Deal with it."

Today's Playlist:
De Ce Plang Chitarele (O-ZONE)
Hips Don't Lie (Shakira)
Into the West (Howard Shore & Anna Lennox)
Jenny Was a Friend of Mine (The Killers)
Somewhere Only We Know (Keane)
Somewhere Over the Rainbow (F 50's)
Hung Up (Truth or Dare)
SexyBack (Justin Timberlake)

That Is the Question

I'm not really the type to blog. Namely, I hate writing. However, it occured to me today that writing about what you want isn't hard. And I love talking about me (who doesn't ;)), and sharing stuff I like. A blog is perfect for that! (Duh.) So here I am. Soy Shannon.
